Book Reviews

Pegasus by Robin McKinley

Wow, it has been a long time since my last post! School has been crazy this past month and I’ve also been working a lot on my WIP, so I have not been able to squeeze in reading and writing reviews. However, I feel that I’ve also been in a bit of a slump because of this book. With that said, I’ll jump right into why…

THE ENDING! And the fact that there is no sequel! Image result for sad gif

About three-quarters of the way through, I thought, “I really like this book, I wonder if there is a second book.” Bad idea, Emma. Bad idea. There is not a sequel and this led to reading reviews which then resulted in the discovery of the ending… When I stumbled across this, it totally killed my desire to finish the book. I was just so disappointed that it ends the way it does because I want Ebon and Silvi’s story to continue. This concept is so beautiful and unique, but the first book just scrapes the surface – this world could be developed in so many ways.

Anyway, enough of that. McKinley’s writing was charming, as always, and Silvi and Ebon’s relationship was adorable. I felt, though, that the plot was rather slow. Maybe it’s just me, but I would have liked a bit more action. It felt like it was building, building, building, and then just nothing because of the ending. Lastly, though, this was a clean read. 7507951.jpg

Do I recommend this book? Yes…? As long as you are alright with the lack of resolution.

Hope you all have a wonderful day!

P.S. Isn’t the cover just gorgeous!?!
